Here is hoping everyone has health & happiness in 2006 ! |
Time to say goodbye to 2005.
It was a year of difficulties and challenges;
but also a year of hope and birth.
May 2006 be better for all.
November 30th brought me back to Canada. What a flight. What AC doesn't tell you when they fly you in through Halifax is that you stop first in St. John's - to clear customs.
That means getting off the plane, standing in line for 40 minutes to clear customs, getting your bags off the carousel and walking around a corner to put your bags back on another track. Walking through that lovely airport to stand in line again, in order to clear security so you can get back onto the same plane you just had to leave.
Then you fly to Halifax so you can change planes to reach your final destination. And this they say is to aid homeland security???? As opposed to say, staying on the plane, letting off the few souls who want to be in Newfoundland and then clearing customs in Halifax. Seriously - the luggage hasn't moved (it didn't have any more leg room that I did, I'm sure) since it boarded in the UK - soooo why take it off the plane only to load it back on the very same plane? Hmmmm maybe I answered my own question - it needed to stretch its legs too?
